Answers about how Safara works, the telematics programme, claims, pricing, and how your data is handled.
Safara uses driving data to provide personalised feedback and support savings for good drivers. Once you download the Safara app and enable the necessary permissions, your driving is monitored in the background. The in-app dashboard shows your driving score and helps you build better habits over time. Responsible drivers can earn a discount on their premium at their mid-term review.
Claims are filed through the Safara mobile app. Open the app, navigate to Claims, and follow the guided steps to capture the incident information and required photos. Safara's team will acknowledge your claim promptly and keep you updated as it progresses through assessment and resolution.
Getting started is simple: (1) Download the Safara app and create your account, (2) Enable the required phone permissions when prompted, (3) Drive normally — Safara monitors your trips automatically. You can review your driving feedback anytime in the app.
Participation in the telematics program is required to access the driving feedback discount. Customers who do not meet the minimum monitoring requirements at their mid-term review will not receive the participation discount.
No. Safara's telematics program is designed as a customer-benefit — good drivers earn a discount, and there are no surcharges or penalties for poorer driving scores. The program is built to reward, not punish.
Your premium is based on a combination of factors including your vehicle, coverage selection, and the underwriting assessment of your risk profile. Safara focuses on making the pricing process clear and transparent — you will always understand what you are paying and why.
Yes. There are two ways to save: (1) Through the telematics driving feedback program — responsible drivers can earn a discount at their mid-term review. (2) By choosing to pay your full annual premium upfront, you receive a paid-in-full discount. You can switch from monthly to full pay mid-term and receive the prorated benefit.
Safara offers both Third Party and Comprehensive motor insurance. Covered incident types under Comprehensive include accidents, theft, fire, and windscreen damage. Third Party cover provides legal and financial protection for damage or injury caused to third parties. Full coverage terms are set out in your policy documents.
Safara targets a first update on every claim within 24 hours. Overall processing time depends on the nature of the claim, documentation completeness, and partner insurer assessment. You can track claim status in real time through the Safara app and web portal.
Yes. You can switch from monthly installments to full pay at any point during your policy term. The paid-in-full discount will be applied on a prorated basis for the remaining term. Manage your billing preference directly through the Safara app.
Safara sends renewal reminders by SMS and email ahead of your policy expiry, along with a link to review your renewal documents. Customers on autopay will have their renewal processed automatically. You can review and manage your renewal at any time through the Safara app or web portal.
Safara collects and processes data in accordance with applicable data protection legislation and industry best practices. Telematics data is used only for the purposes outlined in the policy and privacy notice. We use explicit consent at every step and never share personal data beyond what is required for insurance and regulatory purposes.
